IN ALL HONESTY THOUGH, this journal is pretty half-and-half when it comes to public entries and friends-only ones. i try to keep most of my art in public posts, (sorry this is not exactly a sketchblog i am too lazy for that) but i will basically friend anyone even if i dont know them from someplace else, so just ask! i like to make friends. |

my FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME is Middlesex, it makes me WEEP!!! SO BEAUTIFUL! UGH!! WHERE DO I EVEN START BEST BOOK EVER. SOB. i think i like it a lot because it hits close to home literally. it takes place in detroit, in a very poignant way, detroit is like a character itself and i just never stop thinknig about this goddamn book.
i also really liked Power of One....
the worst book I ever read was called "life in the fat lane". i was about 13 and it was my first time in the teen fiction section at barnes&nobles. it was a dangerous foray, and i picked this one up somehow expecting it to be a harrowing and true-to-life story of a girl struggling with eating disorders and body issues because that was the sort of thing i found interesting when i was 13. i should have known from the COVER ITSELF that it just wasn't going to deliver. it was basically the story of a rich prom queen bitch who was super popular and then she got fat off of some rare and completely made-up disease she had and then she was unpopular and people made fun of her and she learned to love the fatties. oh and i think at the end she got a blind boyfriend or something. because he couldnt see how fat she was or something. wow. |

well i always tell people ZOOLANDER b/c it is the best but idk i dont watch enough movies to have a good answer for this?? im really not a movie buff i dont watch movies unless i go to the theaters and i dont rent movies and i dont buy them.
ummmm i guess if i had to choose something better than zoolander, the movie i dont get sick of watching is BUDDY which is a norwegian movie and its super kawaii... its just a feel good movie and every time i watch it im like augh ive seen this movie like 10 times >:| and then the movie starts and im like OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG ^A^ all over again. I THINK THE CHARACTERS ARE REALLY CUTE OMG STIG INGEEEE IS THE CUTESTTTTTTTTTT you know how most live action movies you watch you dont remember the characters or the names that well??? omg its not like that at all you remember even the not-important characters names its the cutest most fun-to-watch movie EVER if anyone can find it and watch it i RECCOMMEND VERY MUCH!!! im going to look like a tool reccomending it though because its really not that much its not heavy its very light-hearted and fluffy but i t hink there is a time and a place for movies like that and i really love this one!! there is a version of the whole movie on youtube i found but the subtitles are like ... idfk, indonesian??? fuck?? |

i had an extremely distressing and vividly realistic dream last night where my mom decided randomly to rename my sister "Mackenzie", which is kinda funny because thats my LEAST FAVORITE BABY NAME OF ALL TIME, I THINK ITS THE GROSSEST NAME EVER but in the dream i took it like really seriously and it was really stressing me out. my mom decided this because apparently the name "Emily" had bad connotations and would serve as a hassle to her in the future. I remember being SO MAD AT HER i wanted to like kill my mom and she even had this christmas package sent to our house that said "TO: MACKENZIE" on it so my sister could begin to associate her new name with good things and i remember the delivery guy came to the door and there was a package that had "TO: MACKENZIE" written on it and my mom was like "look! its for mackenzie! that's you!" and i sat in the corner and WEPT BITTERLY because i hated my mom so much and i had all these fond memories of when my sister was named emily and it was just really really weird because when i woke up I was like "lol" but it was an EXTREMELY STRESSFUL dream and i woke up really angry snd offended, it was like you know how sometimes people rename their gerbils or their fish because they know the animal wont notice the difference? it was like that, but except with a 14 year old girl so it was extremely insulting. |

the only advice my mom has ever straight-up given to me was "if it smells like shit, it probably is." i laughed when she told me it but it has still never failed and is one of the best pieces of advice i've ever recieved!!!
as for worst advice, well basically anything Dina ever told me about clothes AKA "wear this it'll make your boobs look big" "buy all your shirts one size smaller it'll make your boobs look big" well yeah the boobs look big but the rest of me looks like total sausage-wrapped shit so no thanks.
coincidentally, being friends and associating with Dina was one of those "if it smells like shit it probably is" experiences and im really glad i heeded my mom's advice and got out of that friendship fast because she was such a bitch |

The only concert i have ever been to in my entire life was a JOHN MCCUTCHEON CONCERT in Ann Arbor that my parents made me go to when i was 10. ok jesus christ if that is not my parents in a nutshell i don't know what is hahahhah....
it was at the Ark, which is this incredibly tiny folk music theater and we just sat in our folding chairs and listened to him sing his trademark "happy birthday" song to a bunch of fellow 50-year-old NPR listeners, and then towards the end of the concert my sister PUKED ALL OVER THE FUCKING PLACE AND IT WAS REALLY LOUD and even the singer heard it!!! and he stopped and was like "lol someone must not like my music" and i laffed but my mom was kind of pissed @ john mccutcheon which was even funnier she was like "omg he's making fun of a sick little girl and doesn't even know it"

after about ... i don't know, how long has it been? about 6 years, OK AFTER 6 YEARS OF MY DOG LIVING IN THIS HOUSE only recently in the past few months has she realized that she can knock on the door when it's closed by bumping against it and someone will let her in, at first i thought it was really cute like OH MY GOD YOU LEARNED SOMETHING, YOU NEVER LEARN THINGS!!!! until im sitting in my room and just hear all these horrible squeaky sounds every 30 minutes as my dog rubs her body against my door
also she found out that if a door is closed but not entirely latched shut she can bump it open with her nose which leads to lots of GAHHHH moments where she suddenly BURSTS INTO THE BATHROOM AND RUNS RIGHT INTO ME WHILE IM POOPING and im like holy shit get out of here
i just think it's funny because she's like older than 13 now and we've had her for 6 years and she's still just getting the hang of things and what she can and can't get away with in our house. isn't that weird? |
